The body of Mr Gerald Chia Jia Jie, 21, was found near the oil rig he had been working on, still clad in dark-blue work overalls and with his gas tank and face mask still in place. (straits time)

i remember i didn't really talk to him during our lecture (diploma in marketing), somewhat half a year ago. because we belonged to the different clique, we were just hi-bye classmates for two semesters. sometimes, my mates and i will chance upon him at cineleisure, either working or hanging out with his friends, we would smile and catch up a little before bidding goodbye.

last afternoon, iza called me and asked if i remember gerald. i stopped for a while.. trying to remember and..ya, i told her i remember him..

she told me about his death and i really feel. i feel for his family, his love ones..

life and death, so inevitable..




rest in peace, gerald. will always remember you,
